This is an online program.
This certificate will lead to the Autism endorsement in Nevada, if the student already holds a Nevada teaching license as a Generalist special education teacher or Early Childhood Special Education/Early Intervention. Students in Nevada who do not already hold a Nevada teaching license should refer to the Autism and Related Disorders concentration within the Special Education, M.Ed. program.

Program Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to: - demonstrate foundational knowledge of characteristics of individuals with autism, their learning environments, and curriculum content to develop appropriate instruction.
- apply, plan, and deliver appropriate assessment strategies and instruction for individuals with autism.
- work effectively with individuals with autism and their families.
Admission Requirements
This certificate will lead to the Autism endorsement in Nevada, if the student already holds a Nevada teaching license as a Generalist special education teacher or Early Childhood Special Education/Early Intervention. Students in Nevada who do not already hold a Nevada teaching license should refer to the Autism and Related Disorders concentration within the Special Education, M.Ed. program. All students should submit a copy of their current teaching license along with the application materials to the program. It is expected that shouldent earned at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA in their most recent degree (undergraduate or graduate). In addition to admission requirements specified by the department, applicants must be qualified in the professional judgment of the Special Education program faculty. I. Program Requirements
15 credits are required to complete the certificate. Students with no previous coursework in behavior management should enroll in EDSP 653 . Students who have previously completed coursework in behavior management should enroll in EDSP 721 . Total Unit Requirement 15
