Educational Measurement, Statistics and Assessment, Graduate Certificate (Online)


This is an online program

There will be 4 required core courses (EDRS 640 , EDRS 715 , EDRS 716   & EDRS 740 ), and a group of 3 courses (EDRS 743 , EDRS 768 , EDRS 769 ) from which students can choose 1 based on their interests.

Note: Students who are enrolled solely in this graduate certificate program are not eligible for Federal Financial Aid.

Program Learning Objectives


Upon completion of the certificate program, students should be able to:  

  • Identify and apply fundamental statistical theories and test theory.   
  • Use current technology and statistical methods to analyze and interpret quantitative data for evaluation and assessment.
  • Apply data management skills to real-world data.  
  • Assess educational and psychological measurements.    
  • Apply modern technology to effectively present results to different audiences.

Admission Requirements


Applications are accepted year-round.

  • Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent in any area.
  • Recommended undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale):

    • A statement of your personal goals related to Educational Measurements and Statistics
    • Transcripts of previous college work

Program Requirements


  • Each course in the certificate must be completed with a grade of B or better. If a lower grade is obtained in a given course, then the course in question must be repeated until this grade requirement is achieved or not counted in the certificate and another course substituted.
  • A maximum of 3 credits may be transferred from another institution, provided the transfer is approved by the program committee.
