Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center offers a variety of services to help students excel academically. Peer tutors help students develop study skills, understand concepts, and increase self-confidence. Types of tutoring include:

FREE SERVICES

• Walk-In Labs provide tutors a large array of classes including accounting, economics, math, physics, Spanish, the sciences and more. Walk-in labs are held in two different locations: the DeLaMare Library (Mon-Fri: 10am-4pm), and the Knowledge Center (Sun-Thur: 4pm-9pm). Check our website for schedules and courses tutored.
• Small group tutoring sessions meet weekly with 2-5 students in the same class with the same teacher.  Students must call (784-6801) or visit the Tutoring Center to schedule group sessions.
• Supplemental Instruction (SI) is provided in traditionally difficult courses. SI Leaders attend class, work closely with the instructor and SI Supervisor, and facilitate four hours of open SI sessions a week and additional test reviews. The schedule of sessions can be found on our website.

$10 ONE-ON-ONE APPOINTMENTS

One-on-one appointments are 50-minute sessions with a trained peer tutor. Together, you and your tutor focus on your specific concerns for a specific course. You can pay for appointment sessions in MyNevada. Go to our website and click “Make An Appointment” for purchasing and scheduling instructions. Appointments are held in the Thompson Building.

Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
