COM 302 - Issues in Interpersonal Communication (3 units) Investigation into the role of interpersonal communication in human relations. (Formerly COM 411; implementation SP10).
Recommended Preparation: COM 113 and COM 212 .
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered Every Fall and Spring Student Learning Outcomes (if available): Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to identify basic interpersonal communication concepts, terminology, and theory. 2. Students will be able to synthesize research on interpersonal topics for class discussion or literature reviews. 3. Students will be able to practice interpersonal communication skills to recognize and change dysfunctional relationship patterns. 4. Students will be able to analyze communication interactions in case study assignments. 5. Students will be able to explain how to handle difficult interpersonal situations such as conflict in productive ways.
