HON 220 - Introduction to Economic Theory and Policy

Survey of major macroeconomic and microeconomic theories, with emphasis on their application to individual, business and governmental decisions.

Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to demonstrate basic understanding of the fields of micro and macroeconomics, to include theory as well as applications.
2. Students will be able to use economics as a tool in the decision making process and apply economic theory to unfamiliar situations as well as to everyday life.
3. Students will be able to summarize and explain findings to others in oral and written form.
4. Students will be able to exhibit college-level writing skills in shorter essays as well as longer projects.
5. Students will be able to research and analyze applied economics topics, and present findings orally and in writing.
