CHS 756 - Organizational Behavior in Health Services (3 units) Investigates the impact that individuals, groups, and structure have on behavior within organizations. Application of this knowledge is used for advancing the effectiveness of health services.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered Every Spring Student Learning Outcomes (if available): Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to articulate in writing or, if called upon, verbally his or her understanding of the implications that knowledge workers have for the contemporary workforce. 2. Students will be able to demonstrate in writing or, if called upon, verbally the application of quality and performance improvement concepts with regard to organizational performance. 3. Students will be able to demonstrate in writing or, if called upon, verbally the application of systems thinking for the resolution of organizational challenges. 4. Students will be able to engage in discussion about the importance and characteristics of a sustainable diverse public health workforce. 5. Students will be able to demonstrate transparency, integrity and honesty, and an ability to motivate others collaboratively in problems solving, decision-making and evaluation.
