CHS 745 - Advanced Survey Methods in Public Health

Designed to advanced students’ skill and knowledge of survey methodologies for addressing public health problems.

Prerequisite(s): A Master of Public Health or related degree.

Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to compare and contrast different survey method approaches to public health research.
2. Students will be able to select the appropriate approach to answer a research question.
3. Students will be able to evaluate the methodological strengths and weaknesses of public health studies employing survey methods.
4. Students will be able to design and evaluate psychometric properties of health surveys.
5. Students will be able to formulate sampling strategies.
6. Students will be able to analyze public health survey data.
7. Students will be able to address ethical issues in public health surveys.
