AGSC 310 - Physiology of Reproduction (3 units) Reproductive organs and their functions, neural and endocrine interrelationships and responses to environmental influences.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 224A and BIOL 224L or VM 328 . Recommended Preparation: CHEM 220A .
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to describe the anatomy and function of the female and male reproductive system for animals. 2. Students will be able to describe the female estrous cycle and the onset of puberty in both male and female animals. 3. Students will be able to describe endocrine changes associate with cyclicity in the female and spermatogenesis in male. 4. Students will be able to describe the process of fertilization, embryogenesis, placentation and hormonal changes associated with gestation and parturition. 5. Students will be able to apply analytical thinking and critical synthesis of knowledge related to reproductive function.
