ANTH 201 - Peoples and Cultures of the World (3 units) CO11 Comparative survey of selected societies from throughout the world. Emphasis on the impact of global developments on traditional societies.
Prerequisite(s): ANTH 101 .
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall and Spring Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to apply theoretical models in anthropology to the analysis of specific cultural practices and phenomena. 2. Students will be able to demonstrate critical thinking skills by articulating and illustrating theoretical frameworks central to the field of cultural anthropology. 3. Students will be able to compare and analyze diverse cultures and cultural practices. 4. Students will be able to examine the ethnographic record, ethnographic methods, and the anthropological study of cultural diversity in global, comparative perspective.
