CS 460 - Compiler Construction (3 units) Introduction to compiler writing techniques, grammars for syntax definition, use of compiler writing tools, compilers for simple languages, case studies of actual compilers.
Prerequisite(s): CS 326 .
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall - Even Years Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will have an ability to design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs, within realistic constraints specific to the field. 2. Students will have an ability to function effectively on multi-disciplinary teams. 3. Students will have an ability to analyze a problem, and identify, formulate and use the appropriate computing and engineering requirements for obtaining its solution. 4. Students will have an ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences. 5. Students will have an ability to use current techniques, skills, and tools necessary for computing and engineering practice.
