EDSP 411 - Students with Disabilities in General Education Settings (3 units) Preparation of teachers to deal with assessment and program development for students with disabilities who are included in general education classrooms.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to teacher education program.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall, Spring, and Summer Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to identify personal attitudes, beliefs and perceptions related to the instruction of students with disabilities. 2. Students will be able to locate and synthesize information available in professional journals on issues related to teaching students with disabilities in general education classrooms. 3. Students will be able to analyze instructional problems posed by instructing students with disabilities and design modifications or strategies. 4. Students will be able to discuss the characteristics of students with exceptionalities as outlined in IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act 04).
