EL 752 - Seminar in College Teaching (2 to 5 units) Topics include: (a) methods of teaching; (b) theories of learning; (c) modern technology in teaching; (d) evaluation and measurements; (e) social foundations of higher education.
Offered: Every Fall - Even Years Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to articulate and refine a personal philosophy of teaching and explain how to put it into practice. 2. Students will be able to demonstrate ability to design and deliver an effective learning unit using current technology, using at least one classroom assessment technique. 3. Students will be able to develop measureable learning objectives and a course syllabus. 4. Students will be able to develop assessment and grading structures for your course that are based on sound pedagogical principles. 5. Students will be able to use various learning styles to develop effective teaching strategies.
