ENG 729 - Contemporary Rhetoric (4 units) Issues in rhetorical theory and practice from Ca.1900 to the present.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to graduate standing in the department of English
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 4 Offered: Every Spring - Even Years Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to analyze primary rhetorical texts from the contemporary period. 2. Students will be able to analyze and critique the development of lines of research and scholarship over time. 3. Students will be able to individually write a publishable article/chapter that brings research from these other fields into play with theory, research, and/or practice in Rhetoric and Composition. 4. Students will be able to collectively develop a prospectus for an edited collection on these intersections that will include their articles/chapters written for this course.
