Methods of literary analysis, research techniques, preparation of documented investigation and bibliography.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to describe the features and define the terminology associated with the four principal literary genres (narrative, lyric, drama, and essay).
2. Students will be able to define major critical theories and methods of literary interpretation.
3. Students will be able to create bibliographies and lists of works cited that abide by MLA guidelines.
4. Students will be able to apply, in a term paper, critical theory and interpretation methods to a literary work, using accepted MLA citation methods.
