FREN 211 - Second Year French I

Structural review, conversation and writing, readings in modern literature.

Prerequisite(s): FREN 112.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to engage in novice/intermediate-level conversations about themselves, family and friends, traveling, public transportation, basic banking and commerce, technology, sports and health.
2. Students will be able to narrate and write in the present, past and future tenses.
3. Students will be able to demonstrate proficiency narrating and writing using the conditional and subjunctive moods.
4. Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of intermediate-level recordings and conversations.
5. Students will be able to write page-length compositions in French about the above topics demonstrating proficienty in various tenses and moods as appropriate.
6. Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of and appreciation for cultural aspects of French-speaking communities and a sensitivity for some for the rules of courtesy and conduct of the Francophone world.
