HDFS 718 - Research Methods in Social Psychology

Theory construction and application of research methods in social psychology. (HDFS 718, PSY 718 and SOC 718 are cross-listed; credit may be earned in one of the three.)

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to demonstrate familiarity with a variety of research techniques commonly employed by social psychologists, including experimental design, survey research, and a variety of other quantitative and qualitative methods.
2. Students will be able to analyze research questions and hypotheses, selecting appropriate research method(s) to test these questions/hypotheses.
3. Students will be able to generate hypotheses and research questions in individual research interest areas.
4. Students will be able to combine research questions and interests with appropriate research designs.
