HIST 608A - World War II Goes to the Movies (3 units) Analysis of World War II movies from 1939 to present. Evolution of American, Asian, African, European films. Topics: combat,epics, comedies, Holocaust, antiwar, home-front, fantasy.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to write a lengthy historiographical analysis or research paper in which historiography figures prominently. 2. Students will be able to identify the main themes of the field in individual and group discussions. 3. Students will be able to analyze examples of major secondary works in the field. 4. Students will be able to identify and explain the following major historical themes: analysis of World War II movies from 1939 to present, evolution of American, Asian, African, European films. topics: combat,epics, comedies, holocaust, antiwar, home-front, fantasy.
