HIST 639B - Inquisition in Europe and Latin America (3 units) Interdisciplinary analysis of the role of the Inquisition in the cultural, religious and social development of Spain and Mexico in particular.
Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to write a lengthy historiographical analysis or research paper in which historiography figures prominently. 2. Students will be able to identify the main themes of the field in individual and group discussions. 3. Students will be able to analyze examples of major secondary works in the field. 4. Students will be able to identify and explain the following major historical themes:the role of the inquisition in the cultural, religious and social development of Spain and Mexico in particular.
