IS 445 - Project Management: Principles and Practice (3 units) The principles and tools that organizations use to plan, schedule, monitor, and control IS projects.
Prerequisite(s): IS 301 ; Business major or minor.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to define and explain the 10 knowledge areas and 5 process areas within the Project Management Body of Knowledge, as articulated by the Project Management Institute (www.pmi.org). 2. Students will be able to apply project management concepts in appropriate contexts. 3. Students will be able to use Microsoft Project 2010 and other software to help plan and manage a project. 4. Students will be able to demonstrate improved oral presentation skills. 5. Students will be able to articulate the importance of good project management.
