MINE 102 - Mining Engineering II (2 units)
Continuation of MINE 101 to include: introduction to mining industry, mining engineering discipline, career paths, 3D computer graphics and basic programming concepts. Field trip required.
Recommended Preparation: MINE 101.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to recognize, position, and understand the industrial function of multidisciplinary teams for exploring, developing, operating and closing a mine in the global, economic, environmental and social arena.
2. Students will be able to apply computer tools such as Excel for calculating and modeling laboratory results for engineering design applications, a modern engineering tool.
3. Students will be able to use the principles of math, physics, and other science and engineering disciplines to the solution of mineral processing, mining, and metallurgical engineering problems.
4. Students will be able to recognize and understand the impacts of current and future events that affect the mining industry as a lifelong learning opportunity, and to apply ethical engineering solutions to respond to those events in the global, economic, environmental and social arena.
