NURS 346 - Nsg Care Ind & Fam:Practi (5 units) Application and evaluation of fundamental and emerging nursing skills in the care of individuals and families.
Units of Internship/Practicum: 5 Offered: Every Spring and Summer Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to utilize foundational knowledge from the sciences, arts and nursing to provide care to individuals and families. 2. Students will be able to develop competency in the nursing process while providing care to individuals and families. 3. Students will be able to develop competency in client assessment, critical thinking technical skills, and communication in the health care setting. 4. Students will be able to identify legal and ethical issues that influence the care of individuals, families, and environment. 5. Students will be able to analyze the influence of economic, political, cultural, and social factors on individuals, families, and environments. 6. Students will be able to integrate behaviors reflective of dignity and respect into the nursing process. 7. Students will be able to integrate research findings in the provision of nursing care for individuals, families, and environments. 8. Students will be able to integrate behaviors intended to promote health, reduce risk, and prevent disease in the delivery of nursing care. 9. Students will be able to develop competency in the use of health care technologies and informatics in the delivery of nursing care.
