Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to outline inequalities in the distribution of mental illnesses in U.S. society according to social class, race, ethnicity, and gender.
2. Students will be able to apply sociological theory to explain the social determinants of mental illness and corresponding mental health inequalities in U.S. society.
3. Students will be able to synthesize and integrate knowledge of the social determinants of mental illness and corresponding mental health inequalities in U.S. society with respect to specific domains of social life, such as work or family.
