SOC 725 - Socialization (3 units) Social psychological approaches to the individual, including field theory, theories of balance and congruency, and other conceptual approaches to social perception, interpersonal attraction and stability of personality.
Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to identify important theories, findings and controversies pertaining to human socialization, and describe major insight from different areas of socialization research. 2. Students will be able to demonstrate familiarity with major empirical research methods in social psychological research on human socialization. 3. Students will be able to demonstrate analytical skills in examining and critiquing theory and research pertaining to social psychological research on socialization.
