STAT 705 - Probability Theory (3 units) This course provides a rigorous foundation in probability theory. Topics include probability axioms, random variables, distributions, moments, moment generating functions, limit theorems, and special topics.
Prerequisite(s): STAT 352 or STAT 461 or STAT 661 .
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to work with univariate and multivariate distributions. 2. Students will be able to compute moments of random variables. 3. Students will be able to derive and prove limit theorems.
