STAT 725 - Mathematical Statistics I (3 units) First of a two-semester sequence in mathematical statistics (STAT 725 & 726) covering fundamental topics: distribution theory, estimation and hypotheses testing, convergence, special topics.
Prerequisite(s): STAT 352 or STAT 467 or STAT 667 .
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to apply distribution theory to stochastic modeling. 2. Students will be able to develop estimators of parameters. 3. Students will be able to prove convergence statements.
