ME 635 - Micromechanics (3 units) The course focuses on the theory of elasticity to develop an understanding of the fundamental principles and solution techniques used in the stress analysis of elastic solids and structures.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall - Odd Years Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will have the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global and societal context. 2. Students will have a recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning. 3. Students will have a knowledge of contemporary issues. 4. Students will have an ability to apply engineering research and theory to advance the art, science, and practice of the discipline. 5. Students will have an ability to design and conduct experiments as well as to analyze, interpret, apply, and disseminate the data. 6. Students will have an understanding of research methodology.
