BIOL 322 - Experimental Field Ecology (3 units) Intensive summer course in Little Valley. Introduction to the area’s natural history and to techniques for field study of plants and animals; individual and group projects.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 191A ; BIOL 192 or NRES 217 ; BIOL 314 .
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 2 Units of Laboratory/Studio: 1 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. create an experimental design for the lab and/or field. 2. successfully execute experiments. 3. present and evaluate alternative approaches to field ecology research. 4. demonstrate an ability to analyze experimental data, synthesize and interpret the results in a scientifically meaningful context.
