CEE 420 - Advanced Portland Cement Concrete (3 units) Detailed consideration of concrete mix design; study of the effects of aggregate characteristics, mix design variables, admixtures and exposure of all types upon concrete properties; quality control and special problems related to use.
Prerequisite(s): CEE 377 with a “C” or better.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics. 2. apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors. 3. develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
