CHS 723 - Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases (3 units) Epidemiological methods used in the research, identification, prevention, and control of infectious diseases.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. describe the history, principals, goals, and methods used in Infectious Disease Epidemiology. 2. critically evaluate and synthesize scientific literature. 3. evaluate, justify, and apply appropriate methodological and analytical approaches to address public health research questions in Infectious Disease Epidemiology. 4. effectively defend research methodology and findings through concise scientific writing and oral presentations. 5. interpret results from statistical analyses of epidemiologic studies. 6. examine biologic models of disease etiololgy.
