CPE 400 - Computer Communication Networks (3 units) ISO model, protocol layers, circuit/packet switching, sockets, reliable transport, congestion control, routing, addressing, switching, multiple access, error correction, coding, and digital modulation.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. identify, formulate, analyze, and solve complex computing or engineering problems by applying principles of computing, engineering, science, and mathematics. 2. recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in engineering and computing practice based on legal and ethical principles, considering the impact of solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts. 3. develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions. 4. acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
