CRJ 211 - Police in America (3 units) Critical analysis of historical development, roles, socialization and problems of police work.
Prerequisite(s): CRJ 104 .

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. describe the historical framework of policing. 2. evaluate important policing techniques such as patrol, problem-solving, and community involvement. 3. illustrate the different ethical issues involved in modern policing practices including recruitment, investigations, use of force, and adherence to the rule of law. 4. demonstrate the importance of assessing policing performance.
