GEOG 407 - Advanced GIS Analyses (4 units) CO9 Advanced tools, data management, and functions in geographic information systems (GIS) (ArcGIS); topics in spatial data analysis, 3d-visualization, and modeling of geographic information science (GISci).
Prerequisite(s): GEOG 405 . Recommended Preparation: Course in cartography, computer science or statistics.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Units of Laboratory/Studio: 1 Offered: Every Fall - Odd Years
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. define what constitutes a spatial analysis using GIS. 2. discuss how GIS technology is implemented and the ArcGIS 10.3 software framework. 3. complete research-based analysis utilizing main-stream GIS technology to address a scientific topic of societal concern.
