GEOG 472 - Geography of Arid Lands (3 units) Climate, geomorphology, hydrology, ecology, and desertification of the worlds arid and semi-arid areas. Field trips may be required.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. discuss the major biophysical and/or social patterns in arid lands and the key drivers that give rise to those patterns. 2. analyze these regional patterns using geographical concepts. 3. apply critical thinking, writing, and creative skills to analyze cultural and social relationships and processes in a global or regional context.
