HDFS 232 - Diversity in Children (3 units) Development of children, 0-8, focusing on diversity in terms of cultural, ethnic and linguistic variations; differences in ability and typical and atypical development.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. identify and describe key concepts related to research and theory as well as demonstrate understanding of major child development concepts from the prenatal period through age 8. 2. demonstrate knowledge and higher order thinking about a variety of diversity topics relevant to the development of young children and their families. 3. identify and describe key concepts, terms, and examples to form a knowledge base of Anti-Bias Education.
