HIST 408A - World War II Goes to the Movies (3 units) Analysis of World War II movies from 1939 to present. Evolution of American, Asian, African, European films. Topics: combat,epics, comedies, Holocaust, antiwar, home-front, fantasy.
Prerequisite(s): ENG 102 ; CH 201 or CH 202 or CH 203 or CH 212 ; Junior or Senior standing.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. analyze, evaluate, and interpret primary sources. 2. analyze and clearly explain the argument, main points, and use of evidence in secondary sources. 3. clearly and effectively articulate an original interpretation in verbal and written form. 4. analyze World War II movies from 1939 to present.
