Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. explain the origins and significance of major “American” ideas from the 17th to the mid-19th centuries, with emphasis on how and why these have changed over time.
2. recognize that history has subdisciplines, and be able to identify what distinguishes cultural and intellectual history from other types.
3. identify, interpret, and synthesize primary, secondary, and cultural sources to make historically based analyses.
