HIST 431 - Modern Basque History (From 1700 to the Present)

Social and political history of the Basque country from the eighteenth century to the present; situates Basque history within major theories of nationalism.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. analyze, evaluate, and interpret primary sources.
2. analyze and clearly explain the argument, main points, and use of evidence in secondary sources.
3. clearly and effectively articulate an original interpretation in verbal and written form.
4. identify key events, issues, and policies in Basque history from the eighteenth century to the present.
