HIST 454 - Topics in Medieval History (3 units) Selected topics concerning medieval economic, social, political, religious and cultural developments such as feudal society, religious orthodoxy and dissent, universities and chivalry.

Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. analyze and interpret primary sources from the medieval world through discussions, written assignments, and oral presentations. 2. explain various aspects of medieval religion, culture and society and their development from the end of the Roman Empire to the Renaissance. 3. synthesize, analyze, and convey complex historical information by means of a final project.
