Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. analyze and interpret disparate primary and secondary sources – written, visual, and material. 2. interpret visual and written evidence for its cultural meaning and apply an understanding of a culture to make informed conclusions about it. 3. make an argument and logically support it from both primary and secondary sources. 4. identify, in writing and/or class discussions, the unique characteristics, such as urban space, public ritual, consumer culture, publishing, and the Jewish ghetto, of Renaissance Venice’s cultural and urban identity. 5. discuss, in writing and/or class discussions, the artistic creations and cultural/ technological innovations of Leonardo Da Vinci, and explain why they find relevance in the twenty-first century.
