MUS 302 - Music Theory IV (3 units) Continuation of MUS 203-204, including study of diatonic and chromatic harmony.
Prerequisite(s): MUS 301 .
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. build and analyze complex chord constructions that appear more frequently in Romantic era compositions. 2. analyze techniques related to post-Romantic styles of composition, particularly Impressionism, atonality, and serialism. 3. demonstrate familiarity with other movements in 20th century Western classical art music following serialism.
