Technique of the baton and score reading. Practical leadership experience may be gained by directing the band, orchestra, or ensembles.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. demonstrate clear conducting patterns in instrumental music.
2. analyze an orchestral score.
3. explain through gesture and instrumental technique how to create a blended sound.
