PHYS 707 - Solid State Physics (3 units) Solid state properties related to the crystal lattice and the behavior of electrons in the lattice: band structure, electron transport, phonons, X-ray diffraction, magnetism.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. describe and characterize solid state properties related to the crystal lattice. 2. solve problems in a variety of solid state phenomena such as band structure, electron transport, phonons, X-ray diffraction, and magnetism.
