SOC 373 - Political Sociology (3 units) Examination of various aspects of political theory. Analysis of the nature and development of the state and other political institutions in society.
Prerequisite(s): SOC 101 .

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. identify and critique competing theories in political sociology. 2. examine the origins and development of various types of states and their relationship to society. 3. demonstrate understanding of the class nature of political power and public policy in different states across the world.
