CHS 758 - Information Systems in Health Services Management (3 units) Investigates management information systems in health administration/clinical services. Includes electronic medical records, clinical information systems, management and decision-making technologies.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. apply “systems thinking” for resolving organizational problems. 2. assess health policy and management issues using appropriate channels and information system technologies. 3. compare influences of social, organizational and individual factors on the use of information technology by administrative and clinical end users. 4. relate with users of communication and informatics specialists in the process of design, implementation, and evaluation of health services programs. 5. appraise information technology for Quality Improvement to assess, evaluate, and interpret health services and patient data. 6. justify informatics methods and resources as strategic tools to assist communities in understanding health services. 7. identify informatics and communication methods for Quality Improvement of health services.
