MET 705 - Environmental Chemistry of Metals (3 units) Current practice in industry to eliminate metal waste from effluent streams. Chemistry and chemical reactions of metals and metal precipitates. Various treatment technologies in practice.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. identify common metal contaminants, sources, and regulations pertaining to them. 2. describe basic aspects of metal speciation in aqueous solution. 3. summarize treatment methods in current practice and identify appropriate mediations techniques for modern scenarios.
