CHS 717 - Applied Bayesian Statistics (3 units) Students will learn the basics of designing and carrying out Bayesian analyses and interpreting and communicating results through hands-on experience with real data and computer simulation methods.
Prerequisite(s): CHS 703 ; CHS 780 .
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate an understanding of the basic concepts underlying the Bayesian approach to statistical thinking. 2. use the Bayesian computing techniques for the practical application of Bayesian models to data analysis. 3. critically evaluate scientific journal articles using Bayesian data analysis.
