CS 458 - Introduction to Data Mining (3 units) Introduction of the basic concepts, representative algorithms, and state-of-art techniques of data mining. We will examine the present techniques and theories behind them, and explore new techniques for real world data mining applications.
Prerequisite(s): CS 202 with a “C” or better; MATH 330 .
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts, with a range of audiences. 2. develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
