HIST 334 - American Revolutions From Washington to Chavez

The American Revolutions in comparative perspective from the 18th century to the present, from the United States to South America. Students will compare the causes, course, and consequences of the revolutions as well as the connections between them.

Prerequisite(s): ENG 102 .

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. analyze the processes and events of revolution in the Americas.
2. evaluate how historians and political scientists interpret revolution in the Americas by applying historical theories about topics including social processes, economic conditions, gender dynamics.
3. interpret primary sources about revolution in the Americas.
4. articulate connections between various revolutions across the Americas.
5. articulate and evaluate connections among local, national, and international contexts.
