NURS 420 - Evidence Based Practice and Research in Nursing (2 units) This course focuses on the research process, research analysis, and research utilization in the context of evidence-based nursing practice.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the traditional BSN program.
Grading Basis: Graded Offered: Every Fall and Summer
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. describe the evidence that can serve as the basis for nursing practice. 2. differentiate the components of, and associated terminology, in research reports. 3. interpret the content in a research report for its meaning for clinical practice. 4. analyze the relationships among the different sections of a research report. 5. relate the process of research to the information contained in a research report. 6. describe the relationship between nursing research and the development of the profession of nursing.
