THTR 211 - Stage Makeup Techniques (2 units) This course studies the role of makeup artists in theatrical productions. We will be covering both how makeup is used to enhance the development of a character and the process by which it is achieved. Focus will be split between design, preparation of application and the final application of makeup in a variety of theatrical styles.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 1 Units of Laboratory/Studio: 1 Offered: Every Fall - Even Years
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. discuss and demonstrate knowledge of the use of makeup as a tool of performance design. 2. apply makeup in accordance with professional standards. 3. use a variety of techniques to articulate character design for performance.
